Romans - a letter that makes sense of life

02 June 2025 15:00

Beginning on Sunday 22nd June – and following through the summer months we’re going to explore and study the book of Romans at both our 8am and 10am Sunday services.

There will be 11 weeks covering:

·        ROMANS: Introduction – setting the scene.

·        GOSPEL: How can we become confident in our faith?

·        SIN: What’s wrong with the world?

·        SALVATION: What’s so amazing about grace?

·        PEACE: How can we find rest in a stressful world?

·        FREEDOM: How can we avoid negative cycles?

·        HOPE: What has God promised?

·        MYSTERY: If God is sovereign, what is our role?

·        DEVOTION: How can we live full on for God?

·        COMMUNITY: How can we live together in love?

·        MISSION: How can we be ambitious with the gospel?

We will be using material from The Romans Course by the Bible Society written by Andrew Ollerton (the chap who also wrote The Bible course).

Romans, Paul’s longest letter is complicated however it unlocks the whole story of Scripture and helps us make sense of life.  Studying Romans will equip and strengthen us as disciples today.

You may find it helpful to read Andrew Ollerton’s book on Romans.   (This can be ordered online at a retailer such as Amazon or Eden)

You may also like to watch these two animated overviews of Romans, each just a few minutes long, so well worth watching.
