‘Threads Through the Cross’ Textile Exhibition – Guildford Cathedral 25th September – 3rd November 2025
The exhibition starts with the birth of Jesus, takes the viewer through various scenes in his life, then the cross and resurrection, to Pentecost. It creates a dramatic link between ‘Threads through Creation’ and ‘Threads through Revelation’.
For those of you who have not heard of the work of Jacqui Parkinson, her work was at Portsmouth Cathedral in recent years, and the exhibition is one of the largest textile projects by a single artist.

Friday 10th October 12 noon onwards – Autumn Church Grounds Tidy Up
As the seasons pass all too quickly it is, once again, time for our Autumn Grounds Clear-up. It’s time to brush up the fallen leaves, clear the carpark of the fallout from our great Oak Tree and have a final clear out of weeds around our grounds before the onset of winter. We also need to start removing some of the deadwood from a few if our smaller trees.
If gardening is not your thing, our disabled toilet needs freshening up, so we would like to decorate it using some of the surplus paint we have from the hall. Please come with brushes and rollers in hand, or just yourself. We can supply.
So, if you can spare few hours on Friday 10th of October from 12:00pm on, please let Richard Handy know so he can add you too the merry band of helpers.
Please contact Richard on r.handy@ntlworld.com or 07545-617740.
Saturday 1st November 7pm - All Souls – a Service of Reflection, Remembrance and Thanksgiving
Each year we have a special All Souls Service of Reflection, Remembrance and Thanksgiving, to remember all those who have died, particularly those who have died in recent years. This is a lovely, quiet, and contemplative service and you are warmly invited to attend, along with any relatives and friends who would like to join us. There will be an opportunity to light a candle in remembrance of the person who died.
A list will be left at the back of the church, and you are welcome to add the names of relatives/friends who have died, and these will be read out at the All-Souls Service.
