Update for Sunday 10th August 2025
Sunday 10th August - Holiday Club Celebration
PLEASE NOTE THERE IS NO 8am SERVICE TODAY.
At 10am we gather for a special service to celebrate and conclude our Holiday Club week. The service will be led by Lewis Jones and team. Please come along as we share in all the children have learnt and discovered during the week about God’s love and grace.
At 6pm we gather for Evensong which Revd. Emma will lead and Peter Mitchell, our Licensed Lay Minister (Reader) will preach. All are very welcome.
Sunday 17th August – Romans: FREEDOM – How can we avoid negative cycles
This week the readings are Romans 6: 1-7 and 11-14 and Luke 12: 49-56
At 8am we gather for a traditional BCP Holy Communion Service Revd. Buffy will preside and Revd. Emma will preach.
At 10am we gather for a Holy Communion Peter Mitchell, our Licensed Lay Minister (Reader) will lead, Revd. Buffy will preside and Revd. Emma will preach. This service will be live streamed. All are welcome to stay for refreshments served in our church hall after the service.
Friday 15th August and Saturday 16th August
The annual Denmead Horticultural show will be setting up on the Friday and the show is on the Saturday so please be aware that the carpark will be unavailable during this time.
Monday 18th August – Monday 25th August - Office Closed
The office will be closed during this time as Karen Rose will be on annual leave. Any urgent matters please contact Revd. Emma or one of the churchwardens.
Monday 18th – Wednesday 27th August - Hall Redecoration
The hall including Heath Room, kitchen, toilets and entrance area will be closed at this time for major decoration work. Therefore, there will be no public access during this time, and the office will be closed at this time also.
The church will remain open with access as normal.
Saturday 30th August – Men’s Group BBQ Summer BBQ
We are planning a ‘Men’s Group 10th Anniversary Summer Barbecue’ on Saturday 30th August at 12.00 noon at 4 St. Georges Terrace, Southwick Road, Denmead PO7 6FR and you are warmly invited, together with partners.
Food and soft drinks will be provided. Please bring other drinks and chairs yourselves. A £5 per head contribution towards food costs is requested. Space allows us up to about 30 or so people, so if you’re free and would like to come, please let us know on byrne.jv@gmail.com
We look forward to seeing many of you for a great time together.

Saturday 27th & Sunday 28th September Art exhibition
This year we will be Celebrating the 50th Year of Denmead Art Exhibition!
Please put the date in your diary!
Details of how to enter can be found on the church website , from www.denmead-art.co.uk or from the church office.
We will be looking for volunteers with a couple of hours free that weekend to help with the running of the exhibition. It is always a great way to welcome the community to share and buy the amazing work of local artists.
Funds raised will pay a vital role in the supporting the church's work in the community. If you can help, please speak to Tina Cottam, Amanda Hillyard or Steve Venn.

All Saints Holiday Club
WOW – what an amazing week we have had at holiday club. We welcomed 57 local children, plus several of our young people, as we discovered the good news of Jesus and the love of God.
Next week, Lewis will write a fuller article giving us more detail, but for now I wanted to say a HUGE, HUGE THANK YOU to the amazing team of volunteers who have given their time, energy, prayers, love, and care into making the week so special, safe and fun. Revd. Emma
