Wednesday 23rd July 2pm – Encompass
This month the Encompass Group look forward to welcoming Mr Rob Heard MBE,
Chair and Founder of the Older Drivers Forum for Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
He is coming to talk to us about the joys and challenges of motoring in older age and how to use the roads safely as a driver or a pedestrian. The roads around Denmead are getting busier, pulling into the Hambledon Road or even just crossing the road, anywhere other than on the designated crossing can be a bit daunting. As we get older our ability to judge distance and speed of traffic becomes less accurate, our other senses of sight and hearing can be less acute, and our mobility is not as good as it was! How can we overcome these difficulties to continue to use the roads and pavements around our village safely, so they we do not become too limited in our choice of where we want to go.
It does not matter if you have never been to this group before, and it’s not just for the ladies! Do come and listen to this very useful and interesting talk, test your knowledge of the road, and enjoy a delicious homemade tea. All welcome, 2.00pm in the Church Hall. Jeanette Power
August 5th – August 8th Holiday Club
Update! Holiday Club 2025
Exciting news — registrations are flying in, and we’ve already had to close one age group due to high demand!
If you know a family with children who might want to come, please encourage them to get their forms in ASAP so they don’t miss out
Packaged cakes and biscuits please - Would you be able to donate some packaged cakes or biscuits for Holiday Club? Any donated items need to be brand new and wrapped with a good date on them. All items need to be NUT FREE! Sadly, we cannot accept home-made items.
Donations can be dropped off to the office up until Friday 1st August. Please let Lewis know if you’re donating so we can keep track of what we need to buy.
As the big week approaches, please keep praying — especially for the amazing team behind the scenes, working hard on all the final preparations. There’s a lot going on in the next few weeks, and your prayers make a real difference.
We also have a couple of key dates where we’d love some extra help:
- Monday 4 August (9am–1:30pm) – Setup morning
- Sunday 10 August (after church) – Takedown team
If you’re free — even just for an hour — it would be hugely appreciated.
LET’S DO THIS TOGETHER.
Thank you for being part of Holiday Club 2025 — your prayers, time and support help make it all happen.
To get involved or find out more, please speak to Lewis Jones, Lesley Handy, Peter Markham, or Mags Waters,
or email: holidayclub@allsaintsdenmead.org.uk
