Wednesday 23rd October 2pm

This month we are looking forward to welcoming representatives from the Air Ambulance to come and speak to us.  This is a cause which the Denmead Bereavement Group has supported from their foundation.  Anyone is welcome to join us on Wednesday 23rd October to hear about the invaluable lifesaving work of the Air Ambulance.  We will be making a donation, but any other contributions will be equally welcome. As normal there will be a delicious homemade tea and a quiz.

Friday 1st November 7pm - All Souls – a Service of Reflection, Remembrance and Thanksgiving

Each year we have a special All Souls Service of Reflection, Remembrance and Thanksgiving, to remember all those who have died, particularly those who have died in recent years. This is a lovely, quiet, and contemplative service and you are warmly invited to attend, along with any relatives and friends who would like to join us. There will be an opportunity to light a candle in remembrance of the person who died.

A list will be left at the back of the church, and you are welcome to add the names of relatives/friends who have died, and these will be read out at the All-Souls Service.

Saturday 2nd November 7.15pm – Film Night

We are pleased to announce our second All Saints Film Night Fundraiser. All monies raised go towards church funds.

The film is: "Amazing Grace" (Loan Gruffudd, Romola Garai, Benedict Cumberbatch, Albert Finney, Michael Gambon, Rufus Sewell & others).

Amazing Grace is the incredible true story of William Wilberforce, who tirelessly led the campaign to abolish slavery in Britain. At a time when the slave trade was not only perceived as acceptable but as a necessity for the economy, Wilberforce and his fellow abolitionists dared speak out against a massive injustice, fighting long and hard for the freedom of others.

Parish Chronicle – another request for some help...

In order that All Saints can continue producing this valued publication, I need an assistant in the next few months. I am hopeful that someone would like to take on this role asap, as I will be standing down from it sometime during 2025. I can give whatever help and guidance is needed, but the main requirement is an ability to use computer DTP software.

If you would like to know more about it, please contact Karen in the office, or email or speak to me.

Thank you, Steve.  07803595915  steve.venn@gmail.com

Save the date……Saturday 22nd February 2025

Following the well-received Parish Quiet Day earlier this year, we have booked to do the day again next year. We will be returning to Wisdom House, Romsey and David Lindsay has kindly agreed to lead us once more. Further details will be available soon,

but if you have any questions about the day, please speak to Kim Markham on 02392 240150 or Karen, our parish administrator.

Return: The Minor Prophets

We are coming to the end of our sermon series on the minor prophets.  Below we’ve listed the minor prophet we’ll be looking at each week, along with a broad theme. It would be useful to read the book in preparation for each Sunday.

(In the Sunday service we will only use a selection from each book – not the whole thing!)

Each minor prophet is short in length and will only take 5-20 mins to read. We’ve included the page numbers as found in the Bible we use in church.

  • 20th October Zechariah: Grace and Forgiveness (pgs. 894-902)
  • 27th October Malachi: A Better Day is Coming! (pgs. 903-905

We are also publishing our sermon notes each week, so you can read through them if you wish – and of course feel free to come back with further questions.

These can be found on our homepage at: www.allsaintsdenmead.org.uk

or direct at: www.allsaintsdenmead.org.uk/981/Return-The-Minor-Prophets

Christian Gifts and Craft Stall – welcome area in church

The table is already proving popular, we have a lovely selection of cards including ones for birthdays and other celebrations, note books, pens and recently added knitted poppy brooches. The table is helping us to raise funds to support our mission.  We have started simply but hope to grow this stall with time, adding more lines and more craft items. Do take a look!
