Weekly Update – 19th June 2022
Update Sunday 19th June 2022
This week’s Sunday worship 19th June - First Sunday after Trinity
Today we begin a new teaching series based in the apostle Paul’s letters - Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, and Colossians. This series will run through the summer months and into the Autumn term.
Paul was once a persecutor of the church and a zealous Jew, but his life was transformed when he met the Lord Jesus on the road to Damascus. While the story of Paul’s conversion is told in Acts, we will see snippets of his autobiography as Paul highlights the significance of salvation by grace through faith in these letters.
Although these letters were sent to different congregations for different purposes, repeatedly we will hear Paul’s reminder of the good news of the gospel - that we find hope and forgiveness in Jesus’ work on the cross. Our salvation is complete in Him. Our prayer is that as you read these letters, you will be reminded of what God has done for you in Jesus and that you will rejoice in the hope of your salvation!
The readings are Galatians 1 and Luke 8: 26-39.
Please join us for our 8am traditional BCP Communion Service. Revd Emma will preside and preach. At this service we will also say farewell to Revd Jack as his curacy comes to an end.
At 10am we gather for a Holy Communion Service with groups for our children and young people. Revd Emma and Revd Jack will lead this service and Revd Emma will preach. This service will be live streamed. At this service we will say farewell to Revd Jack as his curacy comes to an end. We wish Jack, Charley, and Caleb well for their next stage.
Refreshments will be served in our church hall after the 10am service, including the Youth’s Bake Off – Jubilee cakes!
