Coming in September 2022

We had hoped to begin the Prayer Course running this summer, however, for several reasons we’ve realised this isn’t possible.  Instead we have postponed the course to the Autumn Term.

It will run on a Sunday evening 6 - 8pm and the dates will be:

Sundays – 4th, 11th, 18th, and 25th Sept. and 2nd, 9th, 16th, and 23rd October.

Please put these dates in your diaries, and more information will follow.

To find out more about the course go to:

 Coffee and Chat

At present we open each Tuesday between 9.30-11.30am in our Heath Room to offer a community cuppa for anyone who would like to call in.  We would also like to open again, as we did Pre-Pandemic, for a Thursday morning session.   However, to do this we need more volunteers asap.  If you would like to find out more, or volunteer, please can you contact us.  With thanks,

John and Sylvia Morphett 023 9243 9037

Christian Aid

This year Christian Aid Week will take place from 15th to 21st May. This year will focus on the problem of drought, which many countries around the world face.  As in previous years we will continue to deliver envelopes and invite people to join us to return their envelopes and for free refreshments in the Church Hall on Saturday 21st May from 10am to 12pm  This year people can donate online, using our own QR code, printed on the envelopes.  We are praying that people will continue to be generous during these tough times, but this will not be possible without you.

To all ‘deliverers’ – your envelopes are now ready to pick up in church – please do not deliver until the 15th of May.    Thank you.

News from the Diocese - Detailed Roadmap for 2022

Bishop Jonathan has invited us to look again at our diocese’s vision, as we aim to move forward with confidence in Jesus and in each other. We are invited to embrace a vision of a diocese where everyone belongs, older and younger, but in which we are intentional about prioritising children, young people and young adults – in the context of a network of Anna Chaplains to develop the spirituality of the older generation.

Bishop Jonathan, and our Diocesan Secretary Victoria James, have now offered us a detailed Roadmap to take us through the rest of 2022, towards the creation of a diocesan-wide plan and the setting of a budget in November. This includes seven separate meetings in which area deans and lay chairs from each deanery meet with the Bishop, Archdeacon, Diocesan Secretary and Deputy Diocesan Secretary to discuss deanery plans.

Those meetings began this week. You can read the full Roadmap by visiting:

The Bishop’s promise is that if you feel your voice isn’t being heard in this process, you should contact him or Victoria directly.
