Eco Church - Bronze Award

In recent years we have made several changes and improvements to our church buildings, our grounds, our teaching, our resources, our community and global engagement, and administration.  After a thorough review of practice and completing the Eco Church survey we are proud to say we have achieved a Bronze Award.  Hurray!

A big thank you to all who have helped with fitting LED lights, creating our Wildflower Garden, fitting bird boxes and insect houses, sourcing eco supplies, managing our energy supplies, and encouraging us all to reduce, reuse and recycle wherever possible.

We still have a lot more work and changes we can make to further our care for God’s creation and increase our Eco credentials.  But if we continue to keep making small changes, together these make a real difference.  As a church we will now be pushing on to gain our Silver Award.

And so, on that note, as we’re now in the warmer summer months, can I please encourage us all, whenever possible to walk or cycle (or run!) to church.  This will decrease our carbon emissions and is a healthy lifestyle choice.  We appreciate this isn’t possible for everyone, so if you are driving to church, perhaps you might consider car sharing with a friend.
