Our Mission Team support Christian Aid each year.  To mark the week, Christian Aid Envelopes are NOW available at the back of church for anyone who would like to collect donations or donate through this means.  To mark the end of the week, there will be a Christian Aid Coffee Morning (hosted by the Men’s Group, Inspire and Mission Team).

All are welcome to stop in for cake, tea, or coffee to hear about some of the work the Christian Aid team are doing. Christian Aid Envelopes can be brought along between 10am -12noon on Saturday 18th May.  Please refer any queries the Inspire mailbox:

We are also looking for volunteers to make cakes for the event. If you are able to make and donate a cake for the Coffee Morning, please email Katherine Wilkinson with the type of cake being made (to avoid duplicates) at If you have a recipe for a vegan, dairy or gluten free cake, this occasion might be just the occasion!

Tuesday 21st May 2pm – Mothers Union

Revd. Anne Lindsay will be speaking to us on at 2pm in the Heath Room. All are welcome.

Wednesday 22nd May 2pm – Bereavement Group

As you know the group normally enjoys an outing for a cream tea during the late spring/early summer.  Unfortunately, prices have risen over the last few years, and there is now a concern that some members may not be able to join in on the grounds of cost.  This year Jenny has kindly offered her garden as a venue for the Group’s Cream Tea.  The address is Fairholme Cottage, the thatched cottage on the Hambledon Road opposite the White Hart Pub.  There will be scones with homemade jam and clotted cream, together with some delicious home-made sponges or fruit cake.  We are asking for a donation of £5.00 per person, to cover costs with any excess to be donated to the Air Ambulance, who we hope will be visiting us in October.  If you cannot manage £5.00, that’s fine, just put in what you can.

It would be helpful to have some idea of numbers.  If you were not at the April meeting, please let Jeanette know you wish to come to the tea.  Please ring after Sunday 12th as I am due to be in QA for a short time, but before Sunday 19th to give us time to organise the catering.  My mobile number is 07877 138043, it is also printed on your programme.  The wet weather alternative is in the Church Hall as usual.  If the weather is mixed, we will decide the venue on the 22nd by 10.00pm.  Please ring me after that if you are unsure whether an outdoor event is viable.       Jeannette Power

Home Group with Peter Mitchell

We are shortly to have a couple of places available in our Thursday evening Home Group. Because they a more intimate setting than a Sunday service and there is more time and flexibility, home groups are great places for getting to know one another, sharing together, worshipping God, praying, studying the Bible, thinking about how to apply it in daily life, exploring Christian themes and growing in faith, as well as for having some fun! They are a safe space in which to learn to be bolder and to think out loud about questions of faith, supporting each other along the way. The Thursday evening Home Group usually meets in one of the group members' homes once a fortnight, depending on members' availability and on other church commitments, from 19:30 until 21:00. Don't worry if you are unsure about making an indefinite commitment for every other Thursday, as we hardly ever manage to gather all the group members together at once and generally have up to six at any one session. If you are interested, and would like to know more, please contact Peter Mitchell at
