HARVEST SUNDAY— We will be celebrating and giving thanks to God for the Harvest on 1st October at our 9.30am service. This year we will be supporting the work of the local Food Bank run in Waterlooville. As such we’d like all donations brought to church on Harvest Sunday to be items that can be given directly to the Food Bank for emergency food parcels. A list can be found on the table at the back of church which details the food/grocery items needed.
This Sunday we are continuing our short series looking at the letter of 1 John. four weeks (17th, 24th, 15thand 22nd) we will be exploring this letter written by John who wrote the 4th.’s purpose is to recall his readers to fundamental convictions about what God has done through Jesus Christ and to urge them to live in the light of those convictions.John calls his readers to maintain the gospel, and reassures them about their own security in God’s love.
John writes, “I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life.”
It is my prayer that as we explore this letter, we too will be encouraged in our faith and will seek to live as God’s children.
Just a reminder that the Bereavement Group will be meeting on Wednesday 27 September 2017 in the Church hall between 2 pm and 4 pm. Everyone most welcome.
