THY KINGDOM COME   Thy Kingdom Come is a global prayer movement, which invites Christians around the world to pray between Ascension and Pentecost for more people to come to know Jesus Christ. What started out as an invitation from the Archbishops’ of Canterbury and York in 2016 to the Church of England has grown into an international and ecumenical call to prayer.  Each day at Morning Prayer we will be praying for our friends and families, our community and nation that many will turn to Christ.  Please do join us if you can.  Or if not please take a Thy Kingdom Come prayer sheet and pray at home each day.

Pentecost Sunday 4th June. Please come to church wearing something red as we celebrate the church’s  birthday!

BRF Bible Reading Notes ordered for May to August are ready for collection in church. details included.

In preparation for our sermon series in the Psalms, readings from Sunday June 18th have been changed.  Please collect updated rotas from the pigeon holes.

Friday 16th June at 6.30pm – ALL SAINTS FILM EVENING!  We are going to show the film ‘RISEN’ which is the epic story of the Resurrection, as told through the eyes of a non-believer.  Clavius (Joseph Fiennes), a powerful Roman military tribune, and his aide, Lucius are tasked with solving the mystery of what happened to Jesus in the weeks following the crucifixion, in order to disprove the rumours of a risen Messiah and prevent an uprising in Jerusalem.  The film will be shown in the Heath Room as the projection and sound are better in a smaller space, so numbers will be limited to about 25.  There is a list at the back of church so please sign it if you wish to come.  The evening will start with a welcome drink, followed by watching about half the film and then there will be a ‘comfort break’ during which we’ll enjoy drinks and nibbles in the Hall, followed by the remainder of the film ending at about 9.30pm.  And it’s all FREE! – so come along and enjoy a sociable and thought-provoking evening.  If it proves to be popular we will arrange a repeat event so that others have the opportunity to watch the film.  Gill & Mike Barge.

Saturday 8th July at 10.30am  I will be abseiling down the Spinnaker Tower with my son in aid of Rowans Hospice who  looked after David so well last year. I would be very grateful if you could sponsor me.  I will leave a form at the back of church. Thank you in advance Myra Johnson.
