Vicar’s day off this week:  Emma is on Leave from Friday 20th October to Friday 27th October.

Throughout the month of October we are continuing to record church attendance for the Diocesan Annual Return.  Please make sure you sign in each week!

At the next meeting of Denmead Mothers’ Union, on Tuesday 17th October at 7.30pm in the Heath Room, we will have a talk by Margaret Lesley about how Mothers’ Union supports families in the UK. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Saturday 21st October 9.00am-5.00pm   Sheila Gould is holding an Open Day for Save the Children at Knightswood, Closewood Road, Denmead.  All Welcome.

Messy Church at 3.30pm on Saturday 21 October.  Please could you save small clear plastic drinks bottles  for us to make Corn Shakers with the children.  Please leave in Flower Room. Thank you.  Sandie.

Ted Dixon, who used to regularly attend with his wife Elsie, has died.  His funeral will take place on Tuesday 24th October at Portchester Crematorium at 11.15am. 

Wednesday 25 October – Men’s Group.We will be returning to the Shalimar restaurant for another Curry Night following the popularity of last year’s event.Meet at church car park at 7.15pm where lifts will be organised.If you would like to come, please sign the list at the back of church or email Mike Barge at denmeadbarges@aol.com

Traidcraft are having an Open House on Saturday 28th October—from 10.00am to 5.00pm at Hope Cottage, 137 Anmore Rd.Please come along and browse the new catalogue, pick up a few ideas for Christmas and buy or order your Christmas cards. All the usual food goodies will also be on sale: lots of chocolate including Advent calendars and with a few tasters as well… Refreshments and home made cake will also be available all day long.

All Souls Service.  Sunday 5th November at 6.00pm we will be holding our annual All Souls Service.  This is a service of reflection, remembrance and thanksgiving as we remember those who have died.  If you wish to have someone remembered please write their name on the list at the back of the church.  This list will close on Sunday 29th October.

Remembrance Sunday 12th November. This year for the first time we will be joining with the Parish Council, Scouts, Guides and other local organisations for a joint Act of Remembrance in the village.  This will begin with a procession through Denmead at 10.30am from the Memorial Hall to the Village Green.  At 10.55 we will gather at the  Village Green for a Christian Act of Remembrance and laying of wreaths.  There will be limited seating under cover for those who need it.  After the service finishes all will be welcome to All Saints, either for refreshments in the church hall or for further, quiet reflection and prayer in the church. Please note, there will be no 09.30am service at All Saints.

RM Band Concert on 22nd November—the concert is sold out but there are still a few places left at Barnards for a pre-concert meal of 2 courses at £15.  Please tel: 023 9225 7788 to book a table.

Help needed for Coffee Mornings in the Heath Room on Tuesdays and Thursdays. order to keep these very sociable and rewarding mornings going we need more volunteers to join the rota – usually best in pairs. you can help please contact Brenda or Trevor Wright on 023 9223 3248. you.
