There has been a brilliant response to previous requests for interval refreshments and everyone is very appreciative of all the delicious canapés… so we’re  asking you to do the same again for the forthcoming concert.you can help by donating a platter of food, please complete the list at the back of church, take a platter from the basket, fill it with buffet snacks of your choice and bring it along to the Church Hall after 2pm on 22.food can include cocktail sausages, sausage rolls, vol-au-vents, mini sandwiches, cheese & pineapple, mini cupcakes… anything that doesn’t require cutting up beforehand and can be easily eaten with one hand whilst holding a glass of wine in the other!concert is a sell-out so we need lots of full platters – and remember that all the concert profits go towards Church Funds so your help is invaluable.thanks.Gill Barge (9226 8565)

CTD Carol service is Sunday December 17th 6:00pm. Any singers willing to join an ecumenical choir to support the carols and songs for the service please come along, on the following dates, at All Saints Church:

Fri 24 November 7:00pm, Fri 1 December 7:00pm, Fri 8 December 7:00pm, Fri 15 December 7:00pm, Sun 17 December 2:30pm   An ability to read music is useful but not essential. You just need an enthusiastic singing voice and be able to commit to most of the rehearsals, including the final Sunday afternoon.See Tricia Gilbert for more details.

Parish Chronicle Distributors needed.  Some of our distributors have done the job for years and need a break.  We need people for Rookwood View (18 mags), yew Tree Gardens (20 mags) & The Heath (10 mags). Not a difficult job: half an hour a month as ‘postie’ and once a year as subscription collector. If you can help please ring Stuart Cleaver on 9226 2277

Saturday 11th November at 8.30am – Men’s Breakfast in the Heath Room at church. We welcome as speaker Dr David Pearson on ‘Healing and Wholeness’. David is Diocesan Adviser for Healing, coordinating healing groups across the diocese. He had many years’ experience as a Portsmouth G.P. up in church or email byrne.jv@gmail.coman interesting topic.

TRAIDCRAFT Christmas cards will be on sale at the Horticultural Craft Fair on Saturday 11 November from 10am in the church hall.

Remembrance Sunday 12th November. This year for the first time we will be joining with the Parish Council, Scouts, Guides and other local organisations for a joint Act of Remembrance in the village.  This will begin with a procession through Denmead at 10.30am from the Memorial Hall to the Village Green.  At 10.55 we will gather at the  Village Green for a Christian Act of Remembrance and laying of wreaths.  There will be limited seating under cover for those who need it.  After the service finishes all will be welcome to All Saints, either for refreshments in the church hall or for further, quiet reflection and prayer in the church. Please note, there will be no 9.30am service at All Saints.

All Souls Service next Sunday 5 November at 6.00pm we will be holding our annual All Souls Service.  This is a service of reflection, remembrance and thanksgiving as we remember those who have died.  If you wish to have someone remembered please write their name on the list at the back of the church.  The list closes today, Sunday 29th October.

HELP  NEEDED FOR COFFEE & CHAT MORNINGS in the Heath Room on Tuesdays and Thursdays. order to keep these mornings going, we need more volunteers to join the rota – usually best in pairs. you can help please contact Brenda or Trevor Wright on 023 9223 3248. you.

We are continuing to record October’s church attendance for the Diocesan Annual Return.  Please make sure you sign in!

Thank you to all who helped make the recent Art Exhibition such a success. Around 20% of the paintings on show were sold, giving a great boost to Church funds, but also I think we all felt it was a thoroughly enjoyable time working together as the Church Family! Many thanks to all involved. Steve.

TRAIDCRAFT will be on sale after the 9.30 service this morning.

All the usual food goodies will also be on sale: lots of chocolate including Advent calendars and with a few tasters as well… Refreshments and home made cake will also be available all day long.

Bettina Scott, a past branch leader of Denmead Mothers Union, has died aged 94.Her funeral will take place at St James Church, Clanfield on Friday 13th October at 12.30pm.For more details contact Julia Parsons or Pauline Wale.
